The reason I am keen to support the Canadian Oil and Gas Industry, is because it is a huge natural resource, that if it were continued to be developed responsibly, can be of great benefit to Canadians and the world as a whole.  Those Canadians who are not willing to develop this resource, would still be morally obliged to develop it for the benefit of the rest of the world, particularly the developing counties, whose standard of living is not nearly as high as ours and what we take for granted and enjoy.

Peace in our world would be more accessible if the poor countries of our world had a higher standard of living through improved  education and health, both of which could be considerably improved through additional well focused foreign aid, which the revenue from our Oil and Gas resources could go a long way to providing.  Those people opposing the development of this industry have the moral obligation to find the funds they are denying the poor people of our world, perhaps out of their own pockets to show their concern and commitment to a cause they are denying with their present attitude.

The last 20 years of my professional career as an Agrologist, was spent working is developing countries on 6 continents, helping them improve the breeding, feeding and management of their livestock through education. The work was interesting and educational for me and performed at minimal cost.  The good will that this work generated, in addition to the increase in productivity was most gratifying. Good people are available to do this work.   The funding and increase in standard of living that our uninhibited Oil and Gas industry can provide to the peace of our world is immense and a moral obligation for all Canadians to promote.
