A leader in clean energy development.

Canada’s oil and natural gas industry supports a wide variety of business in B.C., from engineering to software development. The energy industry has created over 20,000 direct and indirect jobs in B.C., putting people to work and helping grow a healthier economy for our families.

British Columbia is a leader in clean energy development, with enough natural gas to meet consumer demand at home and abroad. The province is Canada’s second-largest natural gas producer in Canada.

Between 2014 and 2015, the B.C. government received over $1.5 billion in revenue from oil and natural gas development in B.C. That’s money to pay for health care, education and infrastructure.

  • A healthy energy sector means a healthy economy for British Columbia.
  • Canada’s oil and natural gas sector creates jobs for more than 20,000 British Columbians.
  • Canada’s oil and natural gas sector contributes $1.5 billion to provincial government. This is money for health care, education and infrastructure.

Further to that energy projects have been proposed within British Columbia that will make the country stronger. This includes the Trans Mountain pipelines expansion which create short term and long term jobs within B.C. and create an estimated $5.7 Billion in public sector revenue over the next twenty years.

You can help make projects like the Trans Mountain expansion possible. Click here to send a letter to your MP to ask them to trust the evidence-based NEB process and support its decision to approve the TransMountain Expansion project.
