The introduction of the “Clean Fuels Standard” (CFS) will increase costs to Canadian families and households.
It will hurt consumers at home and at the pump.
According to a study done by the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI), this poorly constructed regulation will mean Canadians are paying an additional 11 cents per litre at the gas pump and add $1.88 per gigajoule.
The Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) have three concerns. CFS could negatively impact manufacturers by:
- Increasing energy cost
- Increasing transportation costs
- And making Canadian companies less competitive relative to global competitors without such regulations
Canadian’s lives shouldn’t be made less affordable, and in an era where Canada’s energy sector is already struggling to compete, the CFS takes billions of dollars out of the Canadian economy, putting more stress on every industry in the country.
In short, it’ll cost all of us more.
Sign the pledge today and say you’re standing against further unaffordability. Say no to the CFS.
